Using a Washing Machine to Remove Pet Hair

A series of technological innovations improved the efficiency of washing machines over the years. They can do much more than simply clean laundry. Now, the washer is a loyal ally in the battle against pet hair.

New machines have a special setting dedicated to removing pet hair. For older machines, the delicate setting will work to help remove pet hair from your laundry. Select the correct setting and wash your clothes how you usually would.

We recommend enhancing this hack using Snuggle® SuperFresh® fabric conditioner to help eliminate pet odor in the wash cycle. Be sure to check your garment’s care label before washing.

Using a Dryer to Remove Pet Hair

Your dryer is another tool in the struggle against pet hair. This one is simple. Place your clothes inside and start the cycle. That’s all. As your clothes dry, the air circulation will capture pet hair and suck the hair out of the drum.

Throw in a Snuggle® SuperFresh® dryer sheet(s) to reduce the static cling on your laundry and help prevent the hair from collecting on your clothes in the future.

Be sure to clean your dryer if you use it for pet hair removal. You can vacuum the drum or wipe it down with a microfiber cloth. To save some time, you can also vacuum the lint trap.
